I give you free rein to judge my Disney+ watch history – I have spent the past three weeks watching old episodes of My Wife and Kids, as if I didn’t watch all of them when it first aired in 2001. And then when they showed re-runs in 2009.

I know. I’m tragic. You don’t have to tell me that. Again.

Marvel’s Eternals has just landed on Disney+, and while there are a lot better properties on the platform – like, A LOT – that doesn’t mean you shouldn’t watch it. Watch it for the fucking mental Harry Styles cameo, at least. (And don’t act like I’ve spoiled Harry’s cameo for you – even my son knew Harry was in that film, and, well, I don’t even have a son yet.)

For those of you who don’t have a spare two hours and 37 minutes to see Kumnail Nanjiani, Lauren Ridloff and Barry Keoghan commit several crimes as they steal every scene, Eternals ends with a guilt-ridden Ikaris (played by Game of Thrones‘ Richard Madden) fly into the sun. Naturally.

Recently, Emmy Kennard, posted a video to TikTok alluding to her brother, Joe’s work. (I know – this is The Movie Dweeb; not LinkedIn. Bear with me.)

According to his IMDb, Joe is a stunt double, and has worked on several major projects, such as Zack Snyder’s Justice League, Star Wars: Episode IX, Cats (ew) and… Eternals, as Richard Madden’s stunt double.

This is Joe’s only Marvel film to date, so when Emmy wrote “When your brother is a stunt double and his next job is a character coming back into the MCU,” you’d be forgiven for assuming Ikaris would be returning to the Marvel Cinematic Universe sooner than expected.

As mentioned, Joe hasn’t performed in an other Marvel movies, and has worked as Richard’s stunt double on other projects, like the upcoming Citadel, so it’s seeming likely that Ikaris is set to appear again. Insert side-eye emoji here.

Currently, Marvel is working on The Marvels, Secret Invasion and Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, but many believe that Ikaris could appear in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness.
