I’d like to think that if Zendaya and I were to ever hang out, we’d get along fine. She’d be like, “Oh, cool. You can eat nine Babybels in one sitting? That’s so awesome!”
And I think we’re one step closer to making this friendship a reality.
As I was scrolling through videos of cats falling off of fences to Dua Lipa hits on TikTok, I saw a notification saying that the Challengers TikTok account was following me.
That didn’t shock me – Challengers is a movie, and they happened to follow an account called The Movie Dweeb. It makes sense.
Or so I thought.

When I went through to their profile, I noticed that they were only following a select handful of accounts, including MGM Studios, the film’s distributor, and me. That’s it. Challengers is only following two accounts and I’m one of them.
Do you think Zendaya reached out to the social media manager and said, “Y’know that bloke who wears cheap, Hawaiian shirts? He’s great, isn’t he? Maybe we should follow him; slide into his DMs and ask if he fancies going out for a curry with us?”
Maybe Mike Faist and Josh O’Connor were high-fiving in the background, as they chanted The Movie Dweeb’s URL.
Or, y’know, maybe it was an accident and some poor intern is going to get fired on Monday for this…
