Charlie Heaton Supports Caleb McLaughlin As Miles Morales Casting

As someone who interviews celebrities for a living, it’s up to me to get the hottest scoop on an actor’s projects. So, when I was offered time with Charlie Heaton – star of Stranger Things and The New Mutants – my eyes turned into big dollar signs, like Bugs Bunny was my spirit animal.

It turns out, however, that Charlie is really rather media trained and wasn’t going to tell me every plot detail from the fourth season of Stranger Things. Well, there goes my clickbait.

I did, however, get a chance to speak to the Marvel star about his fellow Netflix alum, Caleb McLaughlin appearing in a MCU movie, starring as Miles Morales.

After a digital artist, ApexForm, imagined Caleb as Miles, who was previously referred to as Aaron Davis’ nephew in a Spider-Man: Homecoming deleted scene, I put it to Charlie to see if he could see Caleb join him in Marvel’s filmography.

“I saw someone had created the fan art, and it is amazing,” said Charlie. “He looks so cool.

“Man, I would love to see that, too. Caleb’s such a cool guy; I think he’d be great for that.”

Shameik Moore, who voiced Miles in Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, shared his interest in portraying Miles Morales in an upcoming live-action performance, but did admit he’d probably be too old for the role.

There is very little confirmed for the third instalment in the Spider-Man: Homecoming franchise, apart from the fact that Amy Pascal confirmed that the title will have the word ‘Home’ in it.

It’s rumoured to be released after Venom: Let There Be Carnage, which many believe will feature a cameo from Tom Holland’s Spider-Man, alongside Tom Hardy.
