While Timothy Olyphant’s character in Alien: Earth is busy being tormented by alien terrors, the actor himself was having a far more relaxing time off-camera. In an interview with The Movie Dweeb, Olyphant revealed that he managed to sneak in some downtime with none other than Walton Goggins, his longtime pal and Justified co-star, while filming in Thailand. Goggins, coincidentally, was there shooting The White Lotus.
“Yeah, he was down there on the island,” Olyphant casually recalled. “We had a little lunch and hung out. Caught up.” It sounds like the pair swapped post-apocalyptic dread for something much more pleasant; sunshine, seafood, and potentially a few laughs over some very expensive cocktails.
Blues Clubs and Big Cities
As it turns out, Goggins might have drawn the short straw. “They were like all trapped in a hotel,” Olyphant said, referring to the famously enclosed setting of The White Lotus. “We were like hanging out in the big city, going out for blues clubs.” While aliens were wreaking havoc on Earth in the show, Olyphant was busy sipping a Chang and listening to smooth guitar licks in Bangkok.

And although his character was fighting for survival, the real-life actor wasn’t exactly suffering for his art. “We were having a great time,” he grinned.
What Even Is Alien: Earth?
If you’ve somehow missed it, Alien: Earth is the latest chapter in the Alien saga, only this time, the horror lands squarely on our home turf. Yes, the Xenomorphs have come to Earth, and no, it’s not for a sightseeing tour. It’s a high-stakes, high-adrenaline story that reinvents the classic horror franchise with new characters, new stakes, and a deeply unnerving sense of reality.
Timothy Olyphant plays Kirsh, Wendy’s synthetic mentor and trainer, as chaos unfolds. The series offers a fresh take on the Alien mythology while staying rooted in its terrifying legacy. Expect jump scares, gory practical effects, and that signature chest-bursting tension we all pretend not to love.

Sci-Fi with a Pulse
Unlike its more sterile predecessors, Alien: Earth dives into the emotional lives of its characters. It’s not just about surviving the aliens; it’s about surviving each other, which sometimes feels even harder. The show blends political drama, psychological horror, and full-blown sci-fi spectacle.
Babou Ceesay and the Giddy Sci-Fi Nerd Within
While Timothy Olyphant was jazzed about Thai blues clubs, his Alien: Earth co-star Babou Ceesay was having his own out-of-body experience on set. In our interview, Babou lit up when talking about the incredible practical sets used in the series. “There were like a hundred of us on set,” he said, grinning. “We walked onto the bridge, and we were told not to film, but I have video of this, actually.”

And who could blame him? With blinking lights, dripping pipes, and an entire alien spaceship recreated practically, the temptation to sneak a video or two was clearly too strong. “I was, as you say, giddy,” Babou admitted. “I’m sorry, when else am I going to do this?”
That authenticity paid off. “All of us were like that,” Babou said, describing the cast’s sheer excitement the first time they saw the set. “It was like walking into a sci-fi dream.” It wasn’t just about performing lines, it was about experiencing the universe they were thrown into. And that energy translates into every tense, claustrophobic scene on-screen.
