When Sherry Cola joined me for an interview on The Movie Dweeb, I didn’t quite expect a confessional so good it might just belong in her future wedding speech… Or rather, the list of things she doesn’t want in it. But we got there. And fast.
Right from the get-go, Sherry was chanting my name like I was the headliner at a Vegas residency. Not that I’m complaining. If Sherry Cola wants to manifest me into pop culture icon status, I’m all in. But soon, the conversation took a wonderfully chaotic turn: we were talking about Drake. Specifically, about Sherry sliding into Drake’s DMs.
Yes, according to Sherry, she once messaged the global superstar with the classic, risky, late-night opener: “U up?” And while she didn’t reveal whether Champagne Papi ever replied (rude), it did set the tone for a conversation filled with confession, chaos, and charisma.

“I’m a wild girly,” she told me, laughing, before promptly stopping herself from revealing any more detail, saying, “Daniel, I ain’t saying [bleep]!” The woman is a vault… Until she’s not. Between the wild LA nights and tales of toeing the line between wisdom and madness, she had me fully convinced she needs her own tell-all memoir.
“Show Your Titties to Strangers”: Bride Hard Is Not Your Average Action Comedy
Of course, we weren’t just there to bond over Drake and questionable texts. Sherry was promoting her new film Bride Hard, and let me tell you: it’s equal parts badass, bonkers, and brilliant.
Playing alongside Rebel Wilson, Sherry takes on the role of Nadine, who she describes as a blend of hype-woman, supervisor, and therapist, all while typing up psychological evaluations and encouraging chaos. And chaos is something Sherry embraces with the elegance of someone doing the Macarena in a tux at a royal wedding.
In Bride Hard, Sherry and Rebel play two women caught in a high-stakes situation. They kick ass. They’re unapologetically themselves. They chokehold the bad guys. And they do it all in heels. It’s the kind of girl power movie that isn’t just surface-level sass.

“We save the day every single day,” Sherry said. “We are multitaskers. We are the creators of life. Are you kidding me?” She called the film a celebration of womanhood, spontaneity, and shaking up the expectations of what action heroes look like. Honestly, I was about ready to vote her in as Prime Minister by the end of it.
The Rise of Sherry Cola: From Stand-Up to Scene-Stealing Star
If you’ve been on the internet, TikTok, or breathing in any millennial-adjacent circles, chances are you’ve already fallen under the spell of Sherry Cola.
From her early days doing stand-up comedy and performing improv at UCB, Sherry’s quick wit and magnetic energy made her one to watch. She gained widespread attention for her role as Alice in Good Trouble, where she played a proudly queer character with depth, heart, and that trademark Cola punch of humour. She’s since gone on to become one of Hollywood’s most exciting rising voices; someone who can land a killer punchline and make a poignant statement in the same breath.

In recent years, Sherry’s also made noise on the film front, starring in Joy Ride, an R-rated comedy that cemented her as a scene-stealer. And now, with Bride Hard, she’s flexing her action chops too. It’s no wonder she’s constantly being asked to do more, say more, be more. She’s a born entertainer.
Whether she’s manifesting chaos, sliding into DMs, or screaming advice about “showing your titties to strangers,” Sherry Cola lives loud… And I, for one, am obsessed.
And don’t worry. I pinky promised her we’ll be chatting again very soon. I’m already annoying her publicist.
