If you’ve only just stopped humming “Loser, Baby,” Hazbin Hotel’s maddeningly catchy breakout hit from season one, I’m sorry to report (but not really): it’s about to happen all over again. I sat down with Hazbin stars Blake Roman and Kimiko Glenn at MCM Comic Con in London, where they gave me a cheeky little taste of what’s to come in season two, and it sounds like we’re about to be hit with another wave of chaotic, devilishly infectious bangers.

“Oh yeah,” Blake confirmed instantly when I asked if there are more earworms on the way. “Sam Haft and Andrew Underberg are just operating at the peak of their ability. I came back for season two a little skeptical, like, ‘Can they do it again?’ And they can. They did. They are. It’s chaotic. There’s going to be some that are like… Awesome.”

Kimiko jumped in with her own musical tease: “I’m very excited for my song. I think people are going to die and watch it over and over and over. Because you’re going to have to… It goes by very quickly!”

In true hellish fashion, they couldn’t spill any actual spoilers (Blake joked that “Jeffrey Bezos will descend from the ceiling and tackle me” if they did), but what they did share was just as intriguing: Hazbin Hotel is about to crank everything up to 11.

Hell Has Never Looked So Good

Created by Vivienne Medrano (aka VivziePop), Hazbin Hotel first exploded onto the scene as a viral YouTube pilot in 2019. With its unapologetically adult humour, eye-popping animation, and a Broadway-meets-Broadway-by-way-of-hell vibe, it quickly developed a passionate fanbase. Fast-forward to 2024, and the series found its streaming home on Prime Video, where season one set the internet ablaze.

The premise? In Hell, overpopulation is a major problem (which feels weirdly relatable), and Princess Charlie, the daughter of Lucifer himself, has a revolutionary idea; rehabilitate demons and send them to Heaven. Helping (and often hindering) her are a cast of colourful characters, including the charming and chaotic Angel Dust, the mysterious Alastor the Radio Demon, and Husk, a perpetually grumpy cat demon with a drinking problem.

The cast is stacked, featuring Stephanie Beatriz as Vaggie, Keith David as Husk, Kimiko Glenn as Niffty and Blake Roman as Angel Dust.

What’s Coming in Season Two?

Though tight-lipped on details, both Blake and Kimiko were clearly buzzing about what’s in store.

“I think Hazbin’s never been better,” Blake told me. “It’s only ever been great, and it’s only getting better. I’m biased, but I think it’s one of the best animated shows out there.”

Kimiko added that they were lucky enough to get a sneak peek of season two in VivziePop’s hotel room (which honestly sounds like a demon’s dream slumber party). “They really levelled up. The animation is beautiful, the storytelling is crystal clear, the songs are amazing. There’s no doubt in my mind people are not going to be disappointed. They’re going to freak out.”

Frankly, same.

From Hell to Hollywood: Blake & Kimiko’s Other Work

Outside of the underworld, both actors have been killing it.

Kimiko Glenn has become one of the most recognisable voices in animation. You’ve definitely heard her as Peni Parkerin Sony’s Spider-Verse movies, and she’s set to star in the smash-hit series, based on the game, Among Us, where she voices Cyan. And if you still hear her as Brook Soso from Orange Is the New Black, you’re not alone. Kimiko’s been stacking up a career that spans screen, stage, and sound booth.

Meanwhile, Blake Roman has made a hell of an entrance (pun intended) as Angel Dust. His performance in “Loser, Baby” alone turned millions into overnight fans. With season two on the horizon, he’s poised to become one of the breakout stars of modern animation.

Hazbin Hotel Season Two: When Can We See It?

While Prime Video hasn’t locked in a date just yet, the buzz from Blake and Kimiko (and the fandom’s insatiable appetite) suggest we won’t be waiting too long. And if the cast’s excitement is anything to go by, it’ll be worth every agonising second.

As Blake put it: “I feel like season two is going to be like sports. You know, people will be rioting in the streets.”

To which I replied, “You lost me at sports.”

Stay tuned for more Hazbin chaos… And stock up on earplugs. You’re going to need them when the next big number gets lodged in your brain for all eternity.
