It turns out Wednesday isn’t just creepy and kooky; she’s downright terrifying. That’s according to Luis Guzmán, who recently sat down with The Movie Dweeb to chat all things Wednesday, season 2… And got a little spooked along the way.

While promoting his upcoming action thriller Havoc, Guzmán couldn’t help but gush about Netflix’s smash-hit Addams Family spin-off, sharing what he’s most excited for fans to see, “The whole thing… Because, man, it’s amazing from beginning to end,” he told me, practically beaming. “Listen, the first season I was like, ‘Wow, this blew my mind.’ And the second season I’m like, ‘How can they top that?’ And man, they went way beyond. WAY beyond.”

Guzmán, who plays the lovably offbeat Gomez Addams, teased that fans are in for a wild ride, praising the “unbelievably creative” writing team. “You’re going to hear some lines in the second season… I’m going to use that! It works. It works SO well,” he promised, hinting at dialogue we’ll all be quoting come release day.

Season 2 of Wednesday is shaping up to be even bigger and bolder, with new cast members including Steve Buscemi as Nevermore’s new principal and Billie Piper in a mysterious role. Following the record-breaking success of season 1, which racked up over a billion streaming hours worldwide and turned Jenna Ortega’s deadpan stare into a global meme, expectations are sky-high. But if Guzmán’s excitement is anything to go by, season 2 won’t just meet them… It’ll obliterate them.

And speaking of Jenna Ortega’s signature glare, when I asked Guzmán who was scarier, Tom Hardy (who literally points a gun in his face in their new film Havoc) or Ortega as Wednesday, he didn’t hesitate. “I will say Jenna Ortega, hands down,” he joked. “Her eyes, and just how she says things… It’s like, ooh, you don’t want none of that. Oh no. Oh no.” Sorry, Tom, I guess even Venom can’t compete with Wednesday Addams.

But Guzmán isn’t just hanging out at Nevermore Academy; he’s also hitting the mean streets alongside Tom Hardy in Gareth Evans’ long-awaited action flick Havoc. Set in a crime-ridden city, the film follows a bruised and battered detective (Hardy) fighting his way through criminal underworlds to rescue a politician’s missing son. Guzmán plays a pivotal role in the chaos, trading in Gomez’s pinstripe suits for more dangerous territory.

With Havoc promising to push the limits of action cinema, and Wednesday season 2 gearing up to top an already iconic first run, it’s a big year for Luis Guzmán. Whether he’s dodging bullets or dodging Wednesday’s icy glare, one thing’s for sure: we wouldn’t want to be on either of their bad sides.
