As Ella Purnell gears up for the release of Sweetpea, it seems there’s one thing she’s absolutely determined to avoid—spoilers for Arcane, season two. But trust me, I tried. I really tried to get her to spill the beans. After all, when it comes to spoilers, there’s no shame in using any tactic necessary. I’ve had success before, namely in a previous interview with Ella’s Arcane co-star Hailee Steinfeld, where I tried to bribe her with peanut butter (which, by the way, is Hailee’s go-to snack for everything, including the occasional Hawkeye spoiler). Naturally, I thought, “Why not try the same thing with Ella?” But instead of peanut butter, I went with the only thing I had on hand—a vape. Genius, right?

Ella looked at it, momentarily tempted, but then she dropped the mic with the ultimate spoiler-blocking move: “I can’t. I really thought about it. I can’t tell you. I just don’t want to get sued by Netflix. We can wait. I don’t want to ruin it.” And just like that, my spoiler-hunting dreams were dashed, and Netflix’s legal team probably sighed in relief.

But hey, she’s got a point. With Arcane, season two set to hit our screens on November 9th, it’s no wonder Ella’s taking the “no spoilers” policy seriously. After all, we wouldn’t want to risk ruining anything for the millions of fans eagerly waiting to dive back into the world of Arcane. And who can blame her for staying tight-lipped when there are lawyers with a lot of free time?

This whole thing got me thinking about how serious these spoilers can get. I mean, remember when I tried bribing Hailee Steinfeld with peanut butter for Hawkeye spoilers? I expected some juicy tidbits, but instead, Hailee yelled, “How can you do this to me?” like I was taking her family hostage. And yet, there I was again, trying my best to get Ella to drop even the tiniest hint about Jinx’s fate in Arcane, season two.

Ella and Hailee’s friendship is one for the ages. The two stars have bonded over their Arcane journey, playing characters on opposite ends of the emotional spectrum—Hailee as the fierce, determined Vi, and Ella as the unpredictable, chaotic Jinx. It’s no wonder their on-screen chemistry is so electric. Off-screen, the pair are known to share laughs, support each other’s projects, and even post adorable behind-the-scenes moments together. Their bond is so strong that I can’t help but wonder what kind of mischief they get up to when cameras aren’t rolling. If I had to guess, peanut butter and vape-fueled hijinks are likely involved.

As Jinx, Ella brings the perfect mix of vulnerability and insanity to the screen, and it’s no surprise that her portrayal of this beloved character has earned her praise from fans and critics alike. The character’s journey through chaos, loss, and revenge is something that fans are eager to see more of in the upcoming season, but unfortunately, Ella wouldn’t give us any spoilers (not that we blame her, considering the Netflix legal army).

In the end, while I may not have gotten any insider secrets, I’m still hyped for Arcane, season two to finally drop. Ella Purnell’s dedication to keeping us in the dark may have kept us spoiler-free, but at least we know she’s bringing her A-game to Jinx once again.

So, mark your calendars—November 9th, here we come. And hey, maybe next time I’ll just stick to asking for fun facts about Sweetpea… or, you know, maybe peanut butter bribery could work on Ella too. We’ll see.
