Ming-Na Wen is a certified legend. Whether she’s voicing Disney royalty (Mulan), kicking butt in the Marvel universe (Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.), or ruling the Star Wars galaxy as Fennec Shand (The MandalorianThe Book of Boba Fett), she’s always bringing her signature mix of badassery and charm. And now, she’s back in action—this time, in Gremlins: The Wild Batch!

Ming-Na Wen’s Gremlin-Filled Adventure

While promoting Gremlins: The Wild Batch, Ming-Na Wen sat down with The Movie Dweeb for a chat that was equal parts fun and mysterious (seriously, she could give Yoda a run for his money). In the new animated series, Wen lends her voice to the mischievous world of Gremlins, and let’s be real—if anyone can handle chaotic creatures, it’s her. The series, a sequel to Gremlins: Secrets of the Mogwai, promises more Mogwai madness, and with Ming-Na involved, you know it’s going to be epic.

Sneaky Sneaky: Fennec Shand in The Mandalorian & Grogu

Of course, no conversation with Ming-Na Wen is complete without bringing up her iconic role as Fennec Shand. So, naturally, I had to ask: Will we see Fennec in The Mandalorian & Grogu movie?

Her response? Classic Ming-Na. With a knowing smile, she teased, “Oh Daniel, you are just so sneaky sneaky.” Then, in true Jedi-master fashion, she cryptically added, “You know, neither yes nor no can I answer this.”

While she didn’t give anything away (curse you, Lucasfilm NDAs!), she did gush about her character, saying, “I will say I love Fennec. I love, love, love Fennec, and it’s just such an honor to be her.”

The Rise of Fennec Shand

Fennec Shand has become one of the most beloved characters in Star Wars since her debut in The Mandalorian, Season 1. A skilled assassin and mercenary, she started off as a deadly adversary before teaming up with Boba Fett in The Mandalorian, Season 2. From there, she became a key player in The Book of Boba Fett, proving that she’s one of the smartest and toughest warriors in the galaxy.

With her impeccable aim, razor-sharp wit, and no-nonsense attitude, Fennec quickly became a fan favorite. Whether she’s rescuing Boba from certain doom, taking down enemies with sniper precision, or delivering the most effortlessly cool one-liners in Star Wars history, she’s cemented herself as an absolute icon. And let’s be honest—Star Wars wouldn’t be the same without her.

What We Know About The Mandalorian & Grogu Movie

Lucasfilm recently announced The Mandalorian & Grogu, an upcoming live-action movie directed by Jon Favreau. While details are still being kept under wraps (seriously, does Lucasfilm employ Sith Lords to enforce secrecy?), we do know that Pedro Pascal is expected to return as Din Djarin, and, of course, the galaxy’s favorite little green troublemaker, Grogu, will be by his side.

Will we see more bounty hunters? More Darksaber action? Perhaps an appearance from Fennec Shand? Well, according to Ming-Na Wen, it’s all “sneaky sneaky.” So for now, we’ll have to keep our beskar-plated fingers crossed.

One thing’s for sure: whether she’s wrangling Gremlins, bounty hunting across the galaxy, or keeping The Movie Dweeb on my toes, Ming-Na Wen is as unstoppable as ever. And honestly, I wouldn’t have it any other way.
