David Arquette, the legendary actor known for Scream, Never Been Kissed, and his stint as a professional wrestler (yes, really), sat down with The Movie Dweeb to chat about his latest projects, his time working with Nick Jonas, and what it was like sharing the screen with the iconic Chris Farley. As always, Arquette brought his signature energy, a bit of nostalgia, and plenty of laughs.
The Good Half: Working with Nick Jonas
In The Good Half, David Arquette stars alongside Nick Jonas, Brittany Snow, and Alexandra Shipp in a heartfelt dramedy about grief, family, and self-discovery. Directed by Robert Schwartzman, the film follows Renn (played by Jonas), a man returning home for his mother’s funeral while struggling to come to terms with his past.

Arquette had nothing but praise for his co-star, saying, “He was really great, I mean, I was amazed. He’s been in this business so long. He’s just really comfortable, and he really did a great job of balancing the humor and the drama.” He also noted how fun it was to watch the chemistry between Jonas and Brittany Snow, describing their rapid-fire, sarcastic banter. When his character enters the scene—loud, out of sync, and completely missing their rhythm—it made for a great comedic contrast. Thanks to Schwartzman’s willingness to let the actors improvise, Arquette was able to find small but impactful moments that added to the film’s emotional depth.
Airheads Turns 30: David Arquette Remembers Chris Farley
This year marks the 30th anniversary of Airheads, the cult classic comedy about a struggling rock band that takes a radio station hostage in a desperate bid to get their demo played. The film, starring Brendan Fraser, Steve Buscemi, and Adam Sandler, remains a fan favorite for its over-the-top humor, rock ‘n’ roll spirit, and a killer supporting cast that included Chris Farley, Michael McKean, and, of course, David Arquette.
Reflecting on the experience, Arquette said the real highlight was just being able to watch the cast work their magic, especially the late, great Chris Farley. “Meeting Chris Farley—I remember I was so excited about that,” he recalled. “It was right at a point where my character had to go really big, and to be able to go there was really, really fun.”

Filming Airheads was a unique experience, with Arquette joking that it sometimes felt like they were being held hostage themselves. “A lot of the time we were just background, sitting around,” he said. One of his more memorable moments involved playing a video game with a magnifying glass, which he initially did out of boredom. The director found it so funny that they put it in the film. Talk about improvisation at its finest!
Between working with rising stars like Nick Jonas and comedy legends like Chris Farley, David Arquette has had a career full of unforgettable moments—and, as always, he shares them with a mix of humor, enthusiasm, and undeniable charm.
