You’ve probably never heard of Sydney Sweeney. She’s not that popular on the internet. Literally, no-one is obsessed with her.
So it’s nice that I, The Movie Dweeb, can introduce you to some up-and-coming talent that you may not be aware of.

Recently, Sydney was interviewed by IGN, at a Madame Web junket, and was asked which video game was her favourite. (Usually, it’s not wise to divert from the film in a junket setting, but for Madame Web, we’ll make an exception.)
“I grew up with a brother who games all the time,” said the Euphoria star. “We would play [The Simpsons: Hit & Run]”.
Her co-star, Isabela Merced, then said her favourite games, growing up, were from the Super Mario franchise.
If Sydney Sweeney wants a remastered version of The Simpsons: Hit & Run, you best believe I’m going to try my hardest to get a remastered version of The Simpsons: Hit & Run.
When I spoke to Yeardley Smith, who voices Lisa Simpson in the TV series and video games, I asked her about the possibility of a sequel to the hugely popular game.
“That was the most surreal thing I’ve ever done in my whole life, and I will even send you a response, so you can do a mini-update on The Movie Dweeb.”
True to her word, Yeardley messaged me on Instagram, and shared an exchange she had with Matt Selman, The Simpsons‘ writer and producer.
“The Simpsons: Hit & Run is the most requested Simpsons game/merch we’ve ever done, and a refresh is up to Disney.
“I wish I had more concrete news, but that’s rare in the land of The Simpsons, so I’ll just keep reminding Disney that [The Movie Dweeb] wants to see a reboot, and I feel certain that, eventually, they’ll get the message,” said Matt.
