Ethan Suplee Reflects On Memories With Norm Macdonald

I have a lot of peculiar dreams; last night I dreamt that I made love to Vin Diesel. But he was made out of prawn crackers. (And, in case you’re wondering, Prawn Cracker Vin is a very generous lover.)

But one of my more recurring dreams is to star on Saturday Night Live, with one of my inspirations from the show being Norm Macdonald, after I saw his appear as Turd Ferguson Burt Reynolds opposite Will Ferrell.

Following his tragic demise, I found myself in a very deep wormhole watching some of his finest moments – if you’re one of the two people out there who hasn’t already, watch Norm’s bonkers ‘moth joke’ on Conan.

And as I spoke to The Wolf of Wall Street actor, Ethan Suplee, I wanted to chat to him about what his experience working with Norm was like, on My Name Is Earl.

“No matter what we were doing, [Norm] always had a little twinkle in his eye. I don’t think I ever had a serious, earnest conversation with him, because it was all comedy,” said Ethan, before saying “That was just a lot of fun to be around.”

Norm Macdonald – who portrayed Burt Reynolds’ character’s son, Little Chubby, twice in My Name Is Earl – passed away in September, this year, at the age of 61.
