Ever since it’s release in 2018, I’ve watched Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse so many times that I’ve actually heard Jake Johnson’s voice more than my own parents’.
When I was given the chance to chat to the New Girl star about his brand new indie comedy, Ride the Eagle, I jumped at the chance. Literally. As I was replying to the email, I jumped and dropped my phone.
On that note, Jake, you kinda owe me a new iPhone.
Speaking about the possibility of returning to the upcoming Into the Spider-Verse sequel – which is set for release in 2022 – Jake said that he was in the process of signing contracts to reprise his role of Peter B Parker.

He also shared his ideas for which Spider-Man variants he’d like to see appear in the sequel, including his daughters. He wasn’t so keen on seeing me portray Spider-UK, however.
Yeah. That got awkward real quick.
So far, aside from Jake Johnson, only Shameik Moore and Hailee Steinfeld – who play Miles Morales and Gwen Stacey, respectively – have been confirmed to reprise their roles, while Issa Rae has been cast as Jessica Drew, an iteration of Spider-Woman.
