Once, when I was on a school trip to my local playhouse, I saw magician Paul Daniels asleep on his car.
Naturally, being the kind, endearing 11-year-olds that we were, we let him sleep in peace, right after we banged on his window repeatedly and ran away.
This is a rather tenuous link to get to Benedict Cumberbatch surprising fans in a nearby comic book store.
(I appreciate that segue was a strain, but you came here for the incredible footage of Benedict, and not my linguistic ability. Let’s face it.)

Director Scott Derrickson shared some never-before-seen footage of Benedict to his 126k Twitter followers, saying “While shooting in Manhattan right in front of a comic book store, I spontaneously suggested to Benedict that he go inside and he agreed.”
The Sherlock star enters the comic book store donning Doctor Strange’s attire, and chats with the staff before taking photos and even jokes that he’d like to work in the shop should Doctor Strange bomb.
I bet the staff in that store are kicking themselves for buying tickets to see that film, what with it grossing $677.7 million worldwide. Imagine being able to bollock Benedict for arriving to work seven minutes late.

Scott Derrickson won’t be returning to direct the sequel, Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, but is still said to act as executive producer on Sam Raimi’s project.
(Sam, you’re gonna have to pull out the big guns if you wanna go as viral as Scott. Just sayin’.)
