I’m currently sat in my garden cross-legged, listening to Ariana Grande’s ‘thank u, next’, in my The Simple Life t-shirt.
It should therefore not come as a shock that I was excited to hear the news that a second Legally Blonde sequel was in the works.
After it was confirmed that Late Night’s Mindy Kaling and Dan Goor were signed on to write Legally Blonde 3, not only did I bend and snap so much that I practically lost a vertebrae, but Reese Witherspoon gave her seal of approval.
The star, who is set to reprise her role of Elle Woods, took to Instagram to share a photo of Mindy mimicking her Legally Blonde character, as she wrote “Great news alert!!
“Some things are just meant to be! I’m SOOO excited to have [Mindy Kaling] and [Dan Goor] writing Legally Blonde 3! This is #ElleWoodsApproved!”
Mindy was quick to comment, responding with “SHOULD *I* PLAY ELLE?!” Not gonna lie, I could watch Mindy play one of Elle’s books, and I’d still be thoroughly obsessed with her performance.
While Dan Goor has worked as a writer, producer and director on projects such as Parks and Recreation and Brooklyn Nine-Nine, Mindy has written for The Office, The Mindy Project, and the Emma Thompson-starring Late Night.
