Kira Kosarin has done plenty of interviews, but this one might just be the most adorable yet. Sitting down with The Movie Dweeb, she was joined by some unexpected (but very welcome) guests—real-life rabbits. If you’re a Thundermans fan, you’ll immediately see the connection. Dr. Colosso, the sarcastic, wisecracking rabbit from the original series, was a fan-favorite character, and now, Kira got to experience the real thing as she played with fluffy co-stars while talking all about her latest project, The Thundermans: Undercover.
Between cuddling the rabbits, Kira opened up about what it was like to return to The Thundermans universe. The reunion has been years in the making, and fans have been eagerly awaiting the chance to see their favorite superhero family back in action. The series, The Thundermans: Undercover, brings back all the fun, action, and humour that made the original series such a hit.
Kira also shared what blows her mind every time she visits the UK. “Percy Pigs,” she joked, before adding, “because they left a bag for them in my room and I was very excited.” But beyond the snacks, she continued, “I just love the feeling of community out on the street, because everybody’s out living their lives, and having a drink at the pub, and having a smoke, and having a chat, and there’s just such energy and life everywhere you go. Plus, like, the architecture is so beautiful, you know? All of your buildings here are older than my country.”
For those who need a refresher, The Thundermans originally aired on Nickelodeon from 2013 to 2018, following the lives of a seemingly normal suburban family who just so happen to have superpowers. Kira Kosarin stars as Phoebe Thunderman, a straight-A student with a strong moral compass who dreams of becoming a full-fledged superhero. Throughout the series, she juggled school, family drama, and the occasional supervillain battle—all while keeping her powers a secret from the outside world.
In The Thundermans: Undercover, Phoebe is back and ready for action. This time, the family is tasked with an undercover mission that will put their superhero skills to the test. But with so much time having passed, will they still have what it takes? Fans can expect all the classic Thundermans humor, high-energy action sequences, and, of course, plenty of sibling rivalry between Phoebe and her twin brother, Max.

Kira even compared The Thundermans to The Fantastic Four, saying she thinks Phoebe and Max could beat Pedro Pascal’s Mister Fantastic and Vanessa Kirby’s Sue Storm in a battle. “Here’s the thing, I will say we are [over-powered]. We can literally freeze you. So unless you have an antifreeze breath device, you’re dead in the water, and then we also have telekinesis, and either one of us can throw you off a cliff, so literally, you come near me; you come near Max and Phoebe, and you’re dead. So Max and Phoebe would win. However, in The Thundermans, all of our villains always have, like, power blockers or, like, they shoot us with a chip where it’s like, ‘Whoa! No, my head hurts if I try to use my power,’ because otherwise, we would win every single fight and there would be no TV show. So I think we would win.”
Kira Kosarin’s return to the role is a big deal for fans who grew up with the series. Over the years, she’s built a strong connection with the Thundermans fandom, and her excitement about the project shines through. Whether you’re a longtime fan or just discovering the franchise for the first time, The Thundermans: Undercover promises to be a fun, action-packed ride.
With the series now out, fans finally get to see what’s next for Phoebe and the rest of the Thunderman family. And if Kira’s interview proves anything, it’s that she’s just as excited as the fans are. Plus, any interview that involves adorable rabbits is an instant win.
