Cowabunga, dudes! If you thought the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles franchise couldn’t get any wilder, just wait until you hear what the cast of Tales of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles had to say in their interview with The Movie Dweeb! Micah Abbey (Donatello), Nicolas Cantu (Leonardo), and Brady Noon (Raphael) sat down to chat about their latest TMNT series, their dream casting choices, and—because why not—a Gumball crossover that sounds both insane and amazing.

TMNT Meets The Amazing World of Gumball? Make It Happen!

Nicolas Cantu, who voiced Gumball Watterson in The Amazing World of Gumball for over 70 episodes, had a bold pitch: bring Gumball into the TMNT universe! Given that Tales of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles already features a wild mix of mutants—including Leatherhead, a humanoid alligator, and Ray Fillet, a mutant manta ray—why not throw Elmore’s quirkiest feline into the mix?

“Elmore’s already a pretty diverse place, with a lot of different creatures, but I think Gumball might feel more at home amongst the mutants of New York City,” Nicolas said. “He’s an anthropomorphic, talking animal. There’s a bunch of anthropomorphic, talking animals here, so maybe he’d make a bunch of friends. I feel like he’d get along.”

Brady Noon, clearly seeing the bigger picture, added, “I think he might run our verse. Gumball might actually take over our verse.” And then Micah Abbey dropped the ultimate twist, joking, “[Gumball’s] the Last Ronin.”

For those unfamiliar, The Last Ronin is a dark and gritty TMNT storyline set in a dystopian future where only one Turtle remains. Imagining Gumball Watterson as a hardened, revenge-seeking warrior is the kind of chaotic energy we need in our lives.

Tales of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: What You Need to Know

This latest entry in the ever-growing TMNT franchise brings back everyone’s favorite pizza-loving heroes in a fresh, action-packed series. Following the success of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant MayhemTales serves as a continuation, keeping the same vibrant animation style and high-energy storytelling that won over fans.

The series sees Micah Abbey, Nicolas Cantu, Brady Noon, and Shamon Brown Jr. reprising their roles as Donatello, Leonardo, Raphael, and Michelangelo. With the Turtles tackling new threats, encountering bizarre mutants, and (probably) still trying to master their ninja skills, Tales promises plenty of action, humor, and heart.

Dream Casting for Future TMNT Projects

When asked which Hollywood A-listers they’d love to see join them in a future TMNT project, the trio did not hold back.

Micah Abbey suggested that Michael B. Jordan would make “a really cool villain.” Given his track record with powerhouse performances in Black Panther and Creed, it’s safe to say that Jordan would absolutely crush it as a menacing mutant adversary.

Nicolas and Brady, however, went for a more unexpected route, name-dropping Christian Bale, Robert De Niro, and Danny DeVito. Just imagine Bale delivering a brooding, method-acted monologue as a crime lord in the sewers, De Niro running a mutant mafia, and DeVito… well, DeVito could play literally anything and it would be perfect.

Speaking of Danny DeVito… Wario When?

If you’ve been following The Movie Dweeb, you’ll know this isn’t the first time Danny DeVito’s name has come up. In a previous interview, DeVito himself expressed a very strong desire to voice Wario in a Super Mario Bros. sequel, saying, “You should tell [Chris Pratt] that I’m going to take him to the cleaners, but that I should be in the movie.”

So, to recap: the Tales of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles cast wants DeVito in their mutant universe, and DeVito wants to battle Chris Pratt as Wario. Can we just make both of these things happen already?

The Verdict: TMNT Continues to Deliver

Between their hilarious crossover ideas, incredible voice work, and spot-on dream casting, Micah Abbey, Nicolas Cantu, and Brady Noon are proving that the TMNT universe is in very good hands. Tales of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles is shaping up to be another must-watch entry in the franchise, and who knows—maybe we really will see Gumball Watterson take over their world.

Until then, keep your pizza slices warm and your ninja moves sharp. And if you ever see a blue cat running the TMNT sewers, just know Nicolas Cantu called it first.
