Logan Lerman & Molly Gordon Say Sabrina Carpenter Was Their On-Set Obsession

When I caught up with Logan Lerman and Molly Gordon for The Movie Dweeb, I was fully expecting to talk about their new film Oh, Hi!, but what I didn’t expect was to find out that Sabrina Carpenter had basically become the film’s unofficial mascot. From the moment I mentioned her album, it was like I’d tapped into a shared emotional lifeline.

“Sabrina Carpenter’s album became like a religion on set,” I said to Logan, and he didn’t deny it. “I really don’t [have a top three Sabrina tracks]. I’m so sorry,” he admitted, “I love her music, though. I love that album, and her new music is fantastic. We’re genuinely big fans on this set.”

Molly quickly chimed in to back him up: “When we say we, we’re genuinely big fans.” But it wasn’t just them… It was the entire cast and crew, apparently. “When we say we, I don’t mean just us two,” Logan added. “It was like everybody. We make up everyone constantly.”

And when Molly said, “We love Manchild… We’re obsessed with her,” you could feel the fangirl energy radiating. “We think she’s brilliant. And Logan’s actually friends with her and it’s so cool.” Look, I came for a film interview, but I stayed for the Carpenter cult vibes.

Logan Lerman’s Link to Sabrina Carpenter

Molly might’ve said it best; it is cool that Logan’s friends with Sabrina Carpenter. Though he didn’t dive into their relationship during our chat, the way both he and Molly lit up when talking about her said everything. Their admiration wasn’t just surface-level, it was genuine, full-blown appreciation of someone they clearly respect both as a friend and as a powerhouse artist.

While Logan didn’t rank his top three Sabrina tracks (despite my best efforts), he was quick to praise her new music and the impact her album had on set. It’s easy to see why; Sabrina’s musical era has been a global moment, with hits like Espresso and Manchild dominating social feeds and soundtracking everything from film sets to festivals.

That kind of energy is infectious, and clearly made its way onto the Oh, Hi! set. Whether it was blasting in trailers or becoming the background noise to emotional scenes, Sabrina’s voice seemed to be the unofficial soundtrack to their shoot.

Inside Logan & Molly’s Film Oh, Hi!

Of course, we did eventually get to the reason we were chatting, their new movie Oh, Hi!. It’s a quirky romantic drama led by Molly’s character Sophie, and backed by Logan in a role that veers from charming to heartbreakingly sweaty (but more on that in another article).

The chemistry between Logan and Molly, both on-screen and in interviews, is as infectious as Sabrina’s latest single. They bounce off each other with ease, making even the goofiest behind-the-scenes stories feel hilarious and heartfelt.

While they kept things spoiler-free, it’s clear Oh, Hi! is built on vulnerability, silliness, and a healthy dose of realism, a rom-com that knows how un-romantic real life can be.

And if Sabrina Carpenter ever drops a deluxe edition of her album with a secret bonus track called Oh, Hi! (Set Version)? We all know exactly who inspired it.
