Do you ever feel like you’re one of the most talented people on planet earth? That’s something myself and Florence Pugh must have in common.

You see, during lockdown, I have mastered how to cook the perfect waffle in the oven. Bung it in there for seven and a half minutes, then flip it for a further seven and a half minutes. It’s crispy on the outside, but oh, so fluffy on the inside.

Meanwhile, Florence is an Academy Award-nominated star who’s appeared alongside Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson, Scarlett Johansson and Meryl Streep to name a few. Sure. But back on to my waffles…

Florence doesn’t have a lot planned for the foreseeable future. After all, she told THR earlier this year – before she become Instagram’s next best culinary sensation – that she’d like to take a break.

I am taking a break. I’m aware that I’ve been going for about four years now.

I’ve been saying I need to just chill for a second for about two years, but I’m so bad, because I will hear that something’s going around, and I’m like, “Oh my God. I need to do Midsommar.”

Then they’re like, “But Florence, you said you wanted to have a break.” So that’s my fault. But I am going to try and just rest for a second.

But until then, you can still see one of the world’s most talented 20-something year olds in their prime. (No, I’m not, sadly, talking about my waffle-making; I’m talking about Florence Pugh’s upcoming films.)

Black Widow (2020)

Where were you on 1 May 2020, the release date of Black Widow? Or, should I say, the original release date of Black Widow? Yes, I’m sobbing too.

The first film in Phase Four of the MCU see Florence take on the role of Yelena Belova – not only someone who is causing my autocorrect to have a field day, but a sister-figure to Johansson’s Natasha Romanoff.

According to director, Cate Shortland, Romanoff will be “handing [Belova] the baton” in the film, and that “it’s going to propel another female storyline”. That’s just what I need – Tom Holland and Florence Pugh fighting for my affection in every upcoming Marvel movie. I’m just one man.

Don’t Worry, Darling (TBC)

I may have posted something on Instagram that may have caused me to receive, possibly, tonnes of angry DMs. It may have looked a little something like this…

All I’m saying is that you do not get a more powerful squad than the cast of Olivia Wilde’s upcoming Don’t Worry, Darling, do you? You have a Hulk? We have a Florence Pugh.

Currently, the plot is unknown, it is described as a psychological thriller focusing on an unhappy housewife in the 1950s.
