There’s nothing worse than missing an alarm, frantically panicking and having to leg it to your appointment.

Especially when you have man boobs big enough for a young adult to cup.

Well, at least I thought there was nothing worse than that, until I realised the appointment I was late for was an interview with Birds of Prey stars, Margot Robbie and Mary Elizabeth Winstead.

So, after dashing through a manic London at 3PM, I managed to look past the red haze that descended into my vision, and speak about one of the most surprisingly ambitious and amazing superhero films I’d watched recently; Birds of Prey (and the Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn).

And after my brisk jog through London, the film’s title seems to be longer than my damn life span.

Margot Robbie – who was, frankly, born to play the role of Harley Quinn – found her character single in Birds of Prey, after Harley and Mr J broke up, so being the wingman that I am – and I assume Margot very rarely has any luck with the opposite sex – I decided to help her meet Joaquin Phoenix’s Joker.

I questioned whether or not she’d like to see her rendition of the super villain meet Joaquin’s Oscar-nominated Clown Prince of Crime, to which she said “I think they exist in two very different worlds.

“Todd Phillips’ Gotham and [Cathy Yan’s] Gotham are very different. I don’t know how you’d bridge that gap,” explained Margot – who is also nominated for an Academy Award this year, for her role in Bombshell.

She later jokingly said that her version of Harley Quinn would infuriate Joaquin’s Joker, by constantly being clingy and even trying to drag him out of that fridge.

I, too, would find that annoying if my partner constantly kept trying to pull me out of the fridge. I don’t get in it, in an angsty way like Joaquin’s Joker did; I just spend, like, 98% of my day in the fridge looking for more food.

Joined by her Birds of Prey co-star, Mary Elizabeth Winstead, who played Huntress, the two also discussed the praise they’d received from Suicide Squad director, David Ayer.

(I’d like to take this moment to formally apologise to David for comparing him to Mean Girls‘ Amy Poehler. Please don’t blacklist me, David. I love you really.)

The director has notably been very supportive of Birds of Prey – the follow-up to his 2016 superhero film – but he hasn’t yet been in touch with the cast about the flick.

“I know that he put so much into the first Suicide Squad film; building this world. Harley popped out of his brain,” said Margot, before assuming that he would have a closeness to Birds of Prey.

Frankly, all I can say is that I want to take a baseball bat, loot a few shops and commit some minor crimes, in a shameful attempt of becoming friends with the Birds of Prey gang. Is that too much to ask?
