One of them is a funny looking, difficult-to-understand evil bastard that has his finger on a button that can lead to mass destruction of entire countries. The other is Bane. See what I did there? Did you? Did you?!

Donald Trump donned an exceptionally long red-tie which seemingly could double-up as a noose, a pin of the flag of the United States that could actually be seen sighing in disappointment, and his wig that least looked like road kill, when he – on Friday, 20 January 2017 – became President, having made his inauguration speech. The only problem is, it wasn’t really his speech, was it?

One passage was almost an exact replica of Batman’s nemesis’ speech, Bane’s, from Christopher Nolan’s The Dark Knight Rises. I suppose reciting Hitler from Inglorious Basterds just wouldn’t be trendy enough.

Of course POTUS, Donald Trump wrote that speech. He wrote it one a piece of paper whilst he copied it from watching the entire Nolan-Batman franchise.

Trump said “We are transferring power from Washington D.C. and giving it back to you, the people. For too long a small group in our nation’s capital has reaped the rewards of government while the people have born the cost.”

Whilst Tom Hardy’s Bane said “We take Gotham from the corrupt! The rich! The oppressors of generations who have kept you down with myths of opportunity, and we give it back to you, the people. Gotham is yours. None shall interfere.”

At the end of the day, it shouldn’t get to Donald too much. It’s like he always said; “Hakuna Matata”.

And let’s not forget about Donald’s other successes – not only is he an incredible game-show host; a fantastic script writer; and a wonderful President; he’s an excellent painter. Just look at what he did recently…
